Need a good movie to see?

GO SEE AUSTRALIA.
Trust me - you will love it. I will admit that it does have it's slow moments, but really thinking about it, they could not loose those slower moments because it would mess with the story line.
Why, you ask, do I like this movie? Relatively clean language, and content. It is a very powerful and moving story.
And- HUGH JACKMAN. I always forget how much I love Hugh Jackman, this is a great reminder
Also the boy who plays the character Nullah, is an amazing actor.
The Cinematography is incredible. The director, Baz Luhrmann, is one of my favorites. For those of you who are not as fanatic (read crazy, or obsessed) with movies as I am, Baz Luhrmann directed Moulin Rouge, the Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo Decaprio, and Strictly Ballroom.- Those three movies are know as the "Red curtain" trilogy. If you have seen those movies, you know that they sometime feel like a little bit of a drug trip. That was just his style for those movies- But they are all AWESOME movies.
But- Australia has no drug trip sceens. It is awesome. SO go see it- let me know what you think.

Festival of Trees

I would like to encourage any and all of you who are in Utah to go to the Festival of Trees this weekend. It is way awesome- and so worth it. Every single penny that is made- including the entrance fees- go to Primary children's Hospital.
After everything that happened with Bronson, I have decided that I will do everything in my power to help Primary Children's. The people there are amazing. It is a sad place to be, but the nurses, and doctors and the whole staff do an amazing job. My nephew was so incredible blessed to be helped my the devoted and loving people.
The money from festival of trees goes to help the families whose Children are at Primary Children. Also, most of the trees that are decorated, the treat made, the people volunteering, all have some tie to Primary Children's. It is an amazing event.
It runs through this weekend.
Check out the website for information http://www.festivaloftreesutah.org/index.asp

False Advertising.

BIG Pet Peeve for me- If you have a company- do not advertise with an item that you do not have. Has this ever happened to any of you?
So I see this advertisement for a shoe company- Nine West. In their ad- it shows a pic of these shoes

Super cute right? I love shoes- so I go and look for them on Nine West's website. Also on the website, they have the picture of them Right there. So where are they? Other than in the picture, they do not exist. I looked in every possible category of shoe. Seriously, they do not have them.
Why use them for advertising if you don't have it? That is the only reason I looked on the site in the first place. They likelyhood of me buying them was not great, but that would have depended on the price. But I will never know that, and will never buy them becuase they do not exist.
UGH

Did you hear a pop?

I famous tradition of a touch football game on Thanksgiving day... oh the fun. Till someone gets hurt.
This particular year- I was that someone who got hurt. I normally am the sit back and watch the people play, while I am the sports photograhper- especially when it comes to playing football with boys. While this year, I decieded to play. We we doing awesome, having fun. Then, Kelli was the QB. Tim and Nate are in the backfield. Kel lobs a long one to Nate ( long was not very long, because the field was really small. Play with waht your given...) But It was a nice pass until Tim decieded to intercept it. Then, me and nate went up to try and block it. Nate came down, tumbled and rolled right on to my left leg. I felt like I was watchin it all in slow motion. I remember thinking "Man, this is really going to hurt, and do some damage, and there is no way that I can avoid it"
Well Nate got up, I did not. Nate came over and saw me grasping my ankle. He asked me if I heard a pop. I really do not remember. But my dad said that he heard it, and he was like 10 ft away. Well Nate was doing different stretches and things to make sure it was not broken. It wasn't thankfully, but my football career was over.

This is what my foot looked like about two hours later.
Nice huh?
So what was I thankful for this Thanksgiving? Having a Brother-in-Law who is a trained EMT. Thanks NATE!
