6 months of refunds
So I have worked in billing for a LONG time... sometimes it feels like forever. Anywho- I am constantly baffled at how dumb people are with their money. I am not saying I am anywhere close to perfect with how I spend my money- far from it. But I monitor my checking account and all accounts that I have with a very sharp eye. Which is why I am baffled when we have a customer who has been double billed, or charged for 6 months and they never do anything about it. I understand not wanting to deal with customer service and the hassle of it all, but I would SOOOO much rather not have a company charge me constantly incorrectly. HOW can someone go six months and not realize that they are being billed? Do they not look at their bank account ever? Do they have enough money that they don't need to look at their bank account frequently? I just don't get it.
This has not happened just one time. It has happened multiple times when I have worked in billing for two different companies. I just don't get it... can anyone explain it to me?

Casual Friday at the North Pole
I have a bit of a gripe to make. Why do the shopping malls have Santa's that "dress down"? You know, he wears a festive patterned shirt, and the red pants but when did Santa Claus stop wearing the red suit? Seriously, it is like the little kids get cheated out of the full Santa Claus when he does not wear the full red suit? Is Santa trying to make casual Friday everyday? Do anyone else have an issue with this besides me?
I know it probably gets hot in the suit, but let the children get the full experience. I think I might boycott Casual Santa's when I have my own kids. But maybe by then I will have no choice.... It is the kids who suffer here people.
Let them have the Santa that they deserve!

I am funny
At least according to the people at My 99.5. I won a contest. Each week they have a random photo, and you can enter a funny caption to win a prize. I did this last week, and totally forgot about it. Then this morning I got a call saying that I had won a $100 Gift card to Rodizio Grill. Awesome! It feels good sometimes to see that people other then myself think that I am a little funny too- because I think I am HILARIOUS!
Anyways here was the picture

This is the Caption that I wrote for it
Johnny started to think the pet rock he brought for show and tell just was not going to cut it
Hehehe... see funny. Anyone?
Well I am going to Rodizio... Bye.

The Power of One
I recently started reading this blog by this guy His post today was VERY powerful- please check it out.
I believe that the only thing that is truly our own is our agency, and that we choose how we are going to act and respond to the things that are given (or thrown at us sometimes) in life.
This post really made me think. I am studying to be a marriage and family therapist. I hear a lot of statistics in my classes about success rates of marriages, and many other things. It comes down to the choices that those people make. Each choice that we make each day can change our lives. It just take that one right choice. Sometimes we may have to make the choice several times, but it is always ours to make. We determine our course.

Out of the Darkness
Today marks an anniversary of sorts for me. It was eight years ago today, that my last relationship ended. It was also my longest relationship. At the time it was really devastating, but I had no idea how being this low would jolt me to change my life and allow experience I never would have imagined.
One thing that I learned from this experience it was incredible, loving people I have, and especially had at that time, in my life. I was not the awesome person that I am now back then. (for those of you who did not know me back then I am sure that is crazy to believe). I was painfully shy, and I hated that about myself. I hated that I did not stand up for myself, that I did not speak up and let myself be heard. This was particularly hard in this relationship because he was a tiny bit control, and I went along with. It was nothing abusive or anything, but not me. It was always little things that I did that he disapproved of, and he let me know. I did not know how to express my frustration, so I went along with it. I did not know this because I did not really know myself all that well. I knew what I wanted to be, but did not know how to become that.
So when the relationship started to crumble, I did not stand up and defend myself- but I had to wonderful people who did it for me. One was my sister Kelli, and the other was my friend Ashlee. Though neither may remember it, they both stood up for me without me needing to say anything to them. I will forever be grateful for them. I also experienced loving friends helping me through everything always there for comfort.
Because of the break up, I decided that I needed a change! A big change. I moved to Connecticut to be a nanny. This is the best thing that I ever did in my life. In Utah, and especially in Orem, I was always tied to my family. I was just another Measom. Not that that is a bad thing, but I knew that I needed to learn to stand on my own two feet. I did not go away for school, so I did not get this opportunity. And the one time that I had moved out, I was still to close to home that I did not really have to really only on myself.
So off to Connecticut I went. I knew no one. I was living with complete strangers that I also worked for, and they had hired me sight unseen too. I learned to fend for myself. I learned how to get everywhere- which is quite the endeavor considering that it is nothing like Utah. I eventually was able and comfortable enough to go into New York by myself. I loved New York- everything about it!
In CT, I met so many people, that lead to meeting other people. I am so grateful that I took this huge step in my life. I know that this was what was suppose to happen, and if it took having one dark day (or couple of weeks) then that is ok with me. I know that we are blessed when we trust in the Lords plan for us. As scary as it may be to step into the darkness, we will be blessed. Remember that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, usually coming from a source that is show much greater, happier, and amazing then was is behind you.

Cupcake Lady
These are the most recent cupcakes that I made for my ward Break the Fast. Afterwards, I had some left, so a girl in my ward, Anne, took some home. When I use to be in charge of BTF, I usually made some sort of cupcake and another dish. Since I am not in charge anymore, I usually just make on dish. This month I got a great idea to make for the theme of Halloween. I think they turned out pretty snazzy.
Anyways, the other day I was talking with Anne who took home my cupcake. She only took one, but other times she has taken many home. It is all good because, I am not really a fan of cake. And most of the time I have a lot left that I still have some for my family too.
So I told her that I am really not a fan of cake when we were talking, and she was so shocked. I said I like making cake, but for the most part not really a fan. Anne said that I make the best cakes. (awww) She said that when she took home one of these cupcakes her sister asked "Is that one of the cupcake ladies cupcakes?" I was so happy to hear that I am called the cupcake lady, and that she loves my cupcakes.
Anne said here sister begged her for just one little bite.
It made me feel special.
PS- I started a new blog Check it yo!

Throw More Brandy!
Ok- so my little sister and I were talking the other day about how we have always wanted to throw a pie in someones face. This desire comes from this movie (and maybe a little bit from the movie Hook)
I have always wanted to be in an all out pie fight. So I decided that I have a "big" birthday coming up so what am I going to do for my Birthday party?
PIE FIGHT! Until then, I am just going to have to watch the Great Race till then (or Hook)
PS- if you have not seen this movie you should- it is a classic. Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon and Natalie Wood... GREAT!

Life Goes on....
So I figured it is about time that I post something about what is actually going on in my life- even if there is not too much to say.
Well- Summer has come and gone. Life gets so busy with work during the summer, that it seems like summer is just a blur for me. Work was crazy. I realized in all the years that I have done billing for the different alarm companies that I work(ed) for, I have never used the same billing process from one year to the next. It gets a little frustrating-especially when the billing system does not work until a month into the selling season. So that was a fun time...
So other than work, it has been a decent summer. I went Oregon for a week for a family reunion with my mom's side of the family. It was interesting to say the least. It makes me so grateful that my parents are strong in the church and that we have been taught the truths by them. It is sad to see people who know the truths, and pretty much just ignore it. It makes me ache for my mom that she can not share her life with her siblings, and that she has to watch them slowly ruin their lives.
The time we spent in Oregon was fun though. We had a good time. It is beautiful there.
School is starting up again tomorrow. I am so close to being done! I just want it to be over. I have 36 credits left, which I could easily fit into 2 semesters if I wanted to killed myself... so we are aiming for 3.
This semester I am taking a Family Law class, Intro to Counseling, Anthropology, and attempting Statistics again. Not the most exciting semester but it has to be done.
Luckily I have a fun vacation planned in Oct, and a potential cruise in January.
And I am saving up to go to Europe for the first time next year!
So that is life as it is now...

Hallelujah and Praise the Lord
Listening to this song (from Sister Act 2) really makes me wish I were more soulful and could sing in a gospel choir
Plus it has got some awesome throwbacks to so great 90's songs...
and the clothes... WOW.

Friday the 13th

So I have a theory... for most people the number 13 is unlucky, and Friday the 13th is considered to be a day full of bad luck. I think I am immune to this because 13 is my lucky number. I was born on the 13th.
So my theory is this- people that were born on the 13th of any month- automatically 13 is their favorite number, also their lucky number- and Friday the 13th is not an unlucky day for them.
Anyone that I have met that is born on the 13th- feels the same way.
So just one more thing to make me weird I guess.
So I say to you all- Happy Friday the 13th
Also if you get a chance and are curious check out Wikipedia info on Friday the 13th. I would it was interesting- but I am weird like that. It is cool to see where the superstition came from

umm.. what was I gonna say.
So occasionally I get a really AWESOME idea for a post here. I totally come up with what to right, thinking I am going to be so witty, or funny, or sarcastic. But it is a great idea- at least to me. Then when I actually get to writing/checking my blog- nothing.
This happens frequently. I seriously have a post it note on my desk that I keep to write ideas on. The problem is that I don't have the ideas at my desk usually do I forget it. I do not only do this with blog post ideas but with everything in my life. I like making lists, but the problem is that I forget the list. I have a journal that I bought that I have broken into several sections- including Movies I want to watch, Movies I want to buy, Books I want to read, music I want to buy. (I think that there are more lists in this book but again I don't remember it)
I have this list because when I go to buy/ rent any of the above I forget what it was I wanted to see/read/get.
Seriously- it is really bad. I am thinking I am going to need to carry another book for a list... but the problem is I do not always have the book with me... New goal- always carry the book.
So the point of the story- I thought of a great idea for a post yesterday, did not have anything to write it down on, and so therefore no post.

Breathe Deep the Gathering gloom
So I believe that there are three elements that make any song AWESOME (awesome is said in a high falseto voice fyi...) And if a song had these three things it was be the best song in the world. I have yet to find a song that has all three though.
First Things- Whistling.-- think of any song that has whistling in it. There are not many- not enough at least. - Don't worry be happy-- great song!
My favorite whistling song example is James Taylor's My Romance. See below
Whistling in any song just makes the world happier
Second Element- a gong. This gong is severly under used in the world of music
and the thrid element- Talking in a song- especially random poetry.
The song Nights in white satin by the Moody Blues is the closest it gets to utter Awesomeness- it has a gong and talking in poetry in it. Listen to this wonderful song below- now if only they had whistiling. They could replace the flute with whistiling- then they would have the best song EVER!
If you do not want to listen to the whole song- skip to min 5:52 that is where the talking starts and the gong is at the end

Please tell me I am not wrong in this...
Ok so had this "debate" with a co-worker. (ok it was the guy who does the collection calls so I don't want to get him to irratated or else he will quit then I have to do collection calls)
So he talked to a customer of ours who was originally being billed on the 25th of the month automatically.
This customer wanted to switch to the billing date to the 5th of each month. This conversation took place on the 21 of the month. So as I see, the customer was hoping to avoid a month's payment by pushing the payment for the 25th to the 5th. Which is all fine and dandy, but Mr. Collections did not see why we would need to either bill him twice on the 5th- once for the month he pushed back payment (June's payment) and then for July's payment. Make sense right? Just because you change your billing date does not mean you skip a payment.
If you tried to pull that with a cell phone company it would be the same thing- if you pay your bill in July, you still had service in June.
But Mr. Collections acted all put out that I told him we would still have to bill the customer on the 25th since he had not paid for June yet- or that he would have to be billed twice in July... PLEASE tell me that makes sense and I am not the only one who thinks that way.... By the way if you need a mental image of Mr. Collections- think something like this... very similar- minus the cheesey smile cause let's be honest he is doing collection calls and no one doing collection calls is that happy-- but the hair swoop is pretty acurate

My sanity savers
So I work in a office with three boys. I am the only girl. The business that I am in, is a very male dominant type business in the first place. I counted one time, I was 1 of 5 girls that worked here. True it was the off season for the company, but it was weird.
So often times there are conversations that go on in the office that I really do not care anything about- the subject include UFC fighting, guns, hunting, some sports (though I will participate in Football talk) PX 90. These subjects will be covered (all of them) in a matter of minutes in my office.
I am not necessarily what you would call a girly-girl, but these subjects do not interest me. So I have my two life savers that I have a work, that if I did not have them I am certain I would go crazy.
First- My Ipod.

I love my Ipod. If I forget it one day, I go crazy. I have really good noise cancelling earphones.
Second is HULU

I have been able to watch so many shows since this came into existence.
I just plug in my earphones, and keep busy with all my plethora of spreadsheets and all the work that I do.
They save me!

CREATE!
I Loved Loved Loved this talk that Elder Uchtdorf gave This is just a little excerpt from an amazing talk.
I love how he defines creation as bringing into exists something that did not exist before. I love this! So many people think that if they are not crafty, talented musically or whatever, then they are not creative. OH no my friends- He said "Creation means bringing into existence something that did not exist before—colorful gardens, harmonious homes, family memories, flowing laughter."
I love that he includes talents of making people smile as creating. I am not always good at that, but I know people who are, I know people who are amazing at things that I truly wish I could do. But it is ok that I can not. I am a creative person, and I create in my own unique way!
Just love IT!

Some change I do not like

So I woke up Wednesday morning with my alarm going off, as usual I just turned the radio on and just laid there as I was attempting to wake up. For years, I have listened to the same radio station (101.9 the end) because I love their morning show. Well this particular morning, the morning show was not on. I though maybe the DJ's were on vacation- but I still thought that was weird, considering that it was Wednesday, and on Tuesday morning they had not said anything about being gone. Also even if they are gone, they still had a substitute. But it was early in the morning and I did not really think too much about this.
Then on later that day, as I was coming home from work, I was listening to this station yet again. This really is the only station that I listen too regularly because I like the music that they play. I am not really a pop, generation X music type. I do not like most rap, R&B, Country. I love Jack Johnson, Barenaked Ladies, Muse, Jason Mraz, Dashboard Confessional, Dave Matthews- this is my type of music. Anywho- back to the point- I am listening to the station, and the are playing really weird songs- songs that I have never heard them play before.(it was some R&B song about if your man screws around then you should clean him dry)
Then I remembered that the morning show was weird (gone) so I did some investigating. Apparently some time between Tuesday and Wednesday they radio execs decided to change formats and they are now playing what they call "Gen X" Music... WHAT THE???? The also got rid of all of their DJ, and just playing music.
So I know that this is not really a big deal to most people- but to me it is. I have listened to this station for YEARS! There is no other station in Utah like this. It is really sad, now I don't know what station to listen to. Sure some of the other stations play some of the music I like, but they also the stuff that I do not like- more often then not. It just frustrates me.
Now I need to find a new station... ugh. See change is not always good.

I know that it has been a while since I have acutally done any sort of post on what is acutally going on in my life.
Needless to say- not much. But I also forget that people sometimes find my life interesting (why though I don't know) So here is my current standings and plans for life.
I am STILL in school...For those of you who don't know, I am majoring in Behavioral Science with an emphasis in Family Studies. Does not sound that entertaining, but how often does the acutall degree title sound interesting? So the question is always what are you going to do with that?
Well Behavioral Science is basically working with people, particularly people with any type of Behavioral problems. So with the emphasis in Family Studies- I focus on Family issues that people have. Ultimately I want to become a Marriage and Family Therapist. But that means finishing my degree first, and then going to atleast 2- more likely three- years of school to get a master's so that I can be certified counselor. So I am setting for right now to get the bachelor, hopefully get a decent job in a field that is more applicable to my actual degree, and then work for a couple of years, and then maybe continue to a masters at that point.
It all depends on my life status- AKA marital status.
So that is school life. There really is not much more, I work- still at Vision, still billing customers.
I do have some a couple of exciting plans coming up-
First this weekend is the festival of Colors! Pictures to come later. I have decided to make this a yearly tradition. It is tons of fun.
Next in the Summer I will be finally getting a vacation longer then two days! Wahoo! We are having a family reunion with my mom's side of the family. With all the drama that is occurring right now with my mom's side it will make for an interesting week- but that is ok. I am excited to go to Oregon and to the beach!
I am also planning on a cruise with my friend Rachel this fall... just a short one but it will still be a blast. We are planning on doing a BIG trip next summer to celebrate our 30th birthdays.
That is pretty much my life for now.

Top Cake choices
Ok I know have done alot of cake post lately... I am obsessed I know. I need help.
But here are the top four choice ideas I have for my birthday cake. These are just cakes that I found on the Internet- so I did not make these, just found the recipes. Ideally mine will turn out relatively close to the cake. And again these are in no particular order
First- a Peach-Raspberry concoction (kind of like this one)

I am thinking yellow cake, maybe with diced peaches in it, or a peach/raspberry filling (depending on the cake) all topped with whip cream frosting, and a drizzle of raspberry puree. I really like the idea of peaches and raspberry for some reason...
Second- Black Forest Cake- chocolate and cherries are almost as good as chocolate and raspberries.

The Third one is a Chocolate Turtle Cake

And finally a Berry Lemon Cake
What are the votes? And if you are local enough, you could even have some cake come my birthday time...

Dear Boy
who broke my little sister's heart,
No, it is not okay that you broke up with her through a text message. Grow a spine, and do it in person. You are the epitome of what is wrong with males these days. You are lazy, insensitive and inconsiderate! You obviously do not respect her enough to give her the courtesy to do it in person.
You are correct in saying that you are not good enough for her. This is an obvious statement, but don't make that your lame excuse for destroying her self-esteem.
Also, don't use the lame excuse of saying you don't want to change her because she is so good, and you are not. Hey Turd- she has a choice! If she wants to do something, then she will do it, if she does not want to do something, then she won't do it!
And don't think that your life will get any better by pushing out all of the good things in your life. Light attracts light, and dark attracts dark. If you push out all that is good, and happy what will you be left with? Nothing but crappiness and sadness.
I will admit, that I did like you. I told my sister this. You were good for her, and then you go and throw the biggest curve ball in the world at her? Where did this come from?
Be honest- give her a real valid reason and not just something that you say to make yourself feel better, or say something that you think will make her feel better about it. Sorry it will not happen. No matter what you say it is going to suck. BUT MOST OF ALL--DON'T BREAK UP WITH A GIRL IN A TEXT MESSAGE. THAT MAKES YOU COMPLETELY LAME.
Thanks-
Your ex-girlfriends older sister who use to think that you were a decent guy, but obviously has since rethought this and decided that you are just a big fat TURD!

At a loss...
So you all know I like to make cakes. Cupcakes, birthday cakes, any kind of cake. I even make my own birthday cakes. Last years cake was amazing, it will be really hard to top. So my birthday is coming up, and I have absolutely no idea what kind of cake I want to make. I normally have a brilliant idea about what kind of cake I want, whether it is a specific flavor- like the Banana Split cake I made last year - again DELICIOUS!!!- or whether it is a themed cake. Which I have not done a "themed" cake for myself in a few years... but I have done them for others.
But this year- I got NADA!
I need an idea, so I come to you all. What kind of cake should I make? For the most part I am up to any flavors, theme ideas, characters cakes, what ever. I just need ideas!
My top three ideas right now are (in no particular order)
1- A Chocolate Raspberry Cake - this is always a fav flavor combination, but I just did it for Tara's cake...
2- Another Banana Split cake- again another favorite flavor combinations, and this cake was that delicious that I would consider doing it again.
3- Lemon Blueberry- this is one I have not done, but it sounds good.
So what ideas do you have? What was your favorite birthday cake you ever had/made?

The cake
So, here is the result of the birthday cake for my sister Tara- you know that Twilight Cake I made.... thanks for those who gave me some ideas!
It turned out pretty good- except for the cake decided to slip during transportation.. oh well... I still got some good pictures.
The first pictures is was it looked like pre-transportation...

The bottom layer is just Styrofoam, but the trees, and everything else is edible. Well not the wolf and Jacob...
The snow and the trees are made of modeling chocolate, and on top of the snow is the tribal symbol for Jacob's tribe... I have no idea what they are called. something starting with a Q...
This picture shows it a little better.

Initially the symbol was going to be on the moon, but they bakery printed it wrong- oh well I can improvise. Also in that picture you can see the oozing raspberry filling coming out. Obviously this is post transportation. The cake layer did not like moving- it was a double layer chocolate cake with a raspberry jam filling (delicious by the way) but I think I put too much jam in the filling and it slid as I was driving. We know for next time.
Also do you like our Candle? We never have candles for cakes- so we use our lighters?

Handsome Men Club
I Love Jimmy Kimmel! This is a hillarious sketch he did. Which plays really well if you watch him well ( I love Matt Damon's part- it is a throw back to his other appearances on Jimmy)

It only took 28 years
I was very proud of my record of never having gone to the hospital for anything other then visiting people who are in the hospital. Yes I survived 28 years on relatively easy going, and nothing to major happening to me.
That was until Sunday night.
This is basically what I looked like- I did not take any pictures of myself, so this is the closest you are gonna get.

Not a pretty sight. It all started, I think, on Friday night. I went out to dinner with my friend Rachel, I had ribs and shrimp. I did not eat anything that I had not had before. We suspect that shrimp is the culprit. It is just really weird since I have shrimp all the time.
Well Friday night when I go to bed, my little sister Tara said that my eye looked like it was swelling. It felt itch so I took some allergy medicine.
Saturday morning I woke up, eye was not swollen but my lips was starting to swell. So I took some more allergy medicine, and then went to take a test. By the time the test was over, I went to Target got some benadryl, and decided just to chill for the day at home.
Things continued to get progressively worse, I broke out in hives all over my body, and benadryl was just not cutting. I went to the store again, got some Cortizone cream, which helped a little.
Well Sunday morning comes, and I am worse then ever. I had no appetite, and I just wanted to sleep.
Then at 10:00 it all moved to my face. This is where the panic set in. I knew that if it went to my throat, it would close up and I would not be able to breathe. So I had my Dad take me to the ER. When we got there, they put us in a room, and the nurse and doctor confirmed what I had previously guessed about the allergic reaction (no duh, of course I am having a reaction) They loaded me up with some strong benadryl, steroids, and epinephrine (I don't think I spelled that right) Then they sent me on my way, and told me that it would be best to avoid shrimp.
So it made for quite the eventful weekend. And I did not get anything done that I needed to- ie school work.

Is this what an outer-body experience is like?
That is how I always feel when I am at the dentist getting some work done on my teeth. I praise whomever discovered/invented the laughing gas. That stuff does wonders when you are at the dentist. With that said, it seriously messes with your mind. I dare you to try and remember all of your thoughts well you are under the influence of this gas. I believe that this is when I do my best thinking, but unfortunately I can't remember the thoughts to often.
Also what is amazing is that I can focus my brain enough when being asked important questions by the dentist- does that hurt? Can you feel that? Do you want silver or composite filling?
You can hear everything going on around you, but it is like you somehow are almost watching it like an observer, and not actually being the one who is having the work... it is weird. Probably the closest I will ever come to having an out of body experience.
Plus on another note- I think that Dentists might be some of the most tortured people. My dentist is really nice(and very hot) and is always apoligizing for the potential pain- always saying things like - "this is going to pinch a little", "raise your left hand if you feel any pain", "just a little pressure." I feel bad for them, I am sure that they do not like torturing people (unless you are the dentist on Little Shop of Horrors). That must be why they are always apoligizing.
Truthfully the part that I hate the worst is when they are giving you the shot of novcaine. After that, as long as I have been properly numbed, I am good to go!
Here is a video of Little Shop of Horrors in case you don't know what I am talking about- this is nothing like my dentist.

I never thought this would happen
but I need some info from you twilighters.
I am making my little sis a cake for her bday in a week and I am making a Twilight cake. I am not about to go and read the book (or see the movies) myself in order to obtain more information about them, so I turn to you all.
My sis is for Team Jacob. So I have a Jacob figurine, and a wolf. What are some other aspects that I can add to the cake that just scream Jacob?
Any ideas on some things I can do? I was thinking of doing a mountain type thing where at the base of mountain I have the Jacob figurine, then as you proceed up the mountain there are footprints that turn into paw prints. And at the top of the mountain is the wolf (which is suppost to be Jacob) Get it?
What do you think? Any other ideas?

It the End of the World as we Know it...

or at least the end of the Lost world. Tonight the first episode of the final season airs. And can I just say, I love this show!!!
I remember six years ago, I was living in CT and I saw a preview for this show and thought it looked cool. Meghs and I watched the first episode together and we were hooked. Since then, I have watched every single episode, and have loved every minute of it. It is so suspenseful, entertaining and gripping!
These are the top reasons (people) that keep me watching the show-
1- Charlie-
honestly- he is the reason that I started watching this show. Loved him on Lord of the Rings. So when I saw him, I was excited to watch. He was also the reason that I almost stopped watching it in Season 1 when they almost killed him off. And when his character did actually die, I was ok with it because it was for the greater good.2- Sawyer

He is now actually the number one reason I watch Lost. I am Totally Team Sawyer! (Jack is whiny. So is Kate) I love his witty comebacks and names he gives everyone. Plus he is dang good looking
3- Sayid-

Season 3 Finale, HE BREAKS A GUYS NECK WITH HIS ANKLES! Need I say more? He is awesome! (yeah we watched that one a couple of times)
4- Ben

He is one of the best bad guys I have seen in a long time. I go back and forth between thinking he is bad to thinking he is good. Best Ben moment- he is eating the cereal in the hatch discussing what he would do if he were actually an "other" CREEPY
5- Hurley

I just love Hurley. He is so lovable. Great comedic timing- he gets the best one liners (Dude, You have some Arntz on you) Just a great guy.
Do you watch Lost? If not Why not? It is great!

Try the Creme Brulee
I saw this on someones blog . I liked it! So I am sharing.
She says that dating is much like a restaurant everybody (everybody=married people) has been raving about. Not only are they raving about the restaurant, they're insisting that YOU SIMPLY MUST TRY the creme brulee. So, you, being a fan of creme brulee, head to the restaurant. The service is so-so, you place your dessert order: "I'll have the creme brulee." "Excellent choice," says the waiter. You wait patiently, mouth watering, for this delicacy. The people at the other tables are enjoying the rich flavor and you can hardly wait. Your waiter comes with your plate, you look down, and what do you find?
Brussels Sprouts!
Puke green, slimey brussels sprouts!
And you HATE brussels sprouts.
So your friends (the same "everybody" I referred to earlier) tell you "You just have to go back. Eventually the waiter brings you creme brulee and it is soooo worth it!" So you return again and again, always ordering creme brulee, always receiving brussels sprouts. You waste your money. You waste your time. And to make matters worse, you find out that going to this particular restaurant in hopes of creme brulee is a COMMANDMENT!
If that is not the perfect metaphor for dating then I don't know what is.

I hate it when
I am exploring on the vastness of the internet and find something that I totally love- it is usually a crafty sort of thing or a cool idea, or what not- and I do not save a picture, or the website or what ever it is and then I can not find it again- EVER.
There are two incidents that have occured that I am still endlessly searching for.
The first is a blog. I do not remember how I wandered on to this blog, but I loved the idea of it. From what I remember the blog was called "Dear Blog" It's author basically wrote letters/posts addressing whatever they felt like. (ie Dear Person who hit my car today, or Dear Sweet Person who left me cookies>)
I loved this Blog- if you know what I am talking about let me know. If as you are searching through the vastness and find it- send me a link PLEASE!
The second item was a wedding cake. (yes I look at wedding stuff even though I am not planning wedding for myself, or anyone else. It is a weakness of mine what can I say. I could have an entire post on that... hmm that is an idea. Oh wait what was I saying? Oh yeah.)
The cake I think was just white, or maybe not. The color did not matter to much. But was I loved about it was that it had the lyrics to the Beatles song "When I am 64" written on it. I loved this idea, and did not save the link or a copy of the pic. So where does that leave me? Searching for this cake again. I have tried to google all sorts of different phrases to try and find this cake to no avail. So if you are search (because I am sure you are all looking at wedding cakes on a regular basis online) and find this cake- again send me a link.
So does this ever happen to you? What are you searching for?

Wow... I thought that I had heard it all
So this is a note on a customer's account for the company that I work for- for those who don't know, I do the billing for a Security alarm company... some of you have worked the alarm circut along with me, so you will get a kick out of this one. If you have not, you will still appreciate the stupidity of it...
Here is what the note said(no lying)
"I spoke with Leon and he is upset because the tires on his wheelchair fell off and he says it was our tech that did it because "he had tatoos and was young" and he wants us to pay for it. I explained that he can see how much they cost and let us know (maybe give him a month free) but i explained that we cant guarantee anything because it isnt anything that relates to the installation that makes logical sense that it might have gotten damaged. I explained that he is making assumptions about the person and what he would do. He agreed and said he'll call back once he know the price."
Seriously? How can you even try to claim that and think that it is factual?

ABC's of Me - The Kickin' K's

K is for Kilts! I saw a bumper sticker today that gave me an idea for the letter K. It said "It is is hard to be humble when you are Scotish"
I love being Scottish! I have alot of Scottish blood on both sides of my family, but my mom's is the most prominent. My mom's maiden name is Archibald, which is part of the MacPherson Clan. When I use to do Scottish Dancing when I will younger (I hated the sword dance. I think I kicked it every time in competition and that was not a good thing) I have this theory that if you have any amount of Scottish blood in your veins, then the sound of a bagpipe playing just sends chills through your body. I love the sound of bagpipes. I love a man in a Kilt!!! I LOVE THE SCOTTISH ACCENT!!!
I would love to go to Scotland some day, and just wonder the highlands!! I even love the movie Brigadoon- even though the dancing that they do is more hollywood then scottish.
So- here are some facts about my Clan- MacPherson

This is one of 17 different tartans for Clan Macpherson. I had a kilt made of this one when I was dancing. This is the dress tartan. They have a bunch of different tartans for different occasions.

This is the Clan Badge with the Motto on it... which I thought was really weird until I read this explaining what it meant
Motto: Touch not the catt bot a glove. 'Bot' means without. The 'glove' of a wildcat is the pad. If the cat is 'ungloved', its claws are unsheathed. The motto serves as a warning that one should beware when the wildcat's claws are 'without a glove'. It is a reference to the historically violent nature of the clan and serves as a metaphorical warning to other clans that they should think twice before interfering with Macpherson business
So don't mess with the Macpherson's!
And finally these are the two castles that are part of the MacPherson estate.

Who knows maybe one day I will get one, or atleast get to go see it...

Twenty-Ten
So I am not really liking the flow of writing 2010... and it is not just because I am not use to it yet.
When I write the date, I simplify (something like this- 4-13-09 or 4/13/09...none of this 4/13/2009 or April 13, 2009.)
Well writing 2010 shortened just looks weird to me... it is the ten it throws me off-- 1/6/10... weird. So then I write 1/6/2010... ugh.
Plus Twenty-Ten... no one called it Twenty- Nine. Ugh... ok weird things to get over... which leads me to my goals...
As I stated at the beginning of Twenty-Nine I am not a fan of resolutions but I agree with goals. I think that I did ok with my goals for last year for the most part- so I am continuing them again this year- and adding one or two more
So here were the goals from last year
1- Read at least one NEW (new meaning a book I have not read before) a month.
(which I did not read a new one a month but I read a couple of new ones)
2- Be a Yes Man.- i just saw the new movie Yes Man... it was ok... but had a good idea behind it. I realized that I need to say Yes to more opportunities. And most particularly make time for more opportunities.
I think for the most part I did this, there was not really any opportunity I turned down, as long as I did not have conflicting issues.
3- Don't be idle.- I watch a lot of TV and Movies- and I am not going to give this up. So to compromise, I will make sure that when I am watching these movies and TV shows, I am accomplishing something still by doing crafts, puzzles, etc...
I finished the cross stitch I had been working on since 2004- so check on this one.
4- Take a Cake Decorating Class. - Failed technically- I did not take a class but I learned a lot of new techniques- self taught
5- Hug people more often. - I still could to better on this one. I am just not a hugger.
So a couple of more goals this year-
1- To go on a cruise!- I need a vacation- I had seriously lack of one last year.
2- To make exercise a habit- which works because I need to exercise for one of my classes this semester- so Yay- love it when the stars align.
