So here is E

Is for Ernie.
Ernie was my all time favorite on Seasame Street. For those of you who don't know, I have 4 sisters. I am the second oldest of four girls in a row, then it is my only Brother, then it is my littlest sister. Well the four oldest girls tended to compete over everything- and I mean everything. Most especially me and my older sister Brenda.
Usually what would happen is that Brenda would pick her favorite of whatever, and then we would all fall into place and pick our favorite too. Usually Jen, who is very quite, would not pick so much as getting stuck with it.
Well you could not pick out the same thing that someone else already chose, so often times someone got a raw end of the deal. When I am telling you we did this with everything I literally mean everything. Movie characters (Land Before time, Cera was my favorite) Mouseketers, Disney Movies, Disney princess'... it goes on for a while.
I have many memories of getting the Christmas Toy catalogue from JC Penny and we would all sit on the couch and look through it. We would race to pick out what we wanted.
Anyways- back to the point. Ernie was my choice. Not something that got shoved on me. Another interesting point- Brenda and me would always pick the related things, but the exact opposites too. So Naturally since I picked Ernie as my favorite Seasame street character, she could not pick Big Bird, or Snuffleupagous. She had to pick Bert as her Favorite.
How boring is Bert? Seriously? Well over the years- he has still been my favorite, and I have come to realize why. He totally reminds me of me. Ernie was a bit of a tease- especially to Bert. He would tease and pester Bert relentlessly. And now that I think of it, Bert is kind of like Brenda. Interesting. I am going to have to explore this idea a little more...
