I would rather sit at home Thank you.

So my little sister has her Prom this weekend. She is excited. But that is not why I am writing about a high school prom ten years after I am out of High school.
My sister has this friend who, to put it nicely, has absolutely no social skills. She is completely oblivious to this fact too, and does not understand why only "creepy" guys are interested in her. (hmmm, maybe your slightly slutty looking pics of yourself on facebook are the first give away?) But I digress- So this girl- we will call her Kay- (not her real name- you just never know) She did not get asked to Prom. Now, I can sympathize with this. I did not get asked to Prom. But I did not sit around and stuff myself with ice cream that night either. I was proactive, and I asked a good friend of my to go with me- which actually ended up being lame, and one of my worst dates, but not for the fact of who I took. (again I digress)
Well, Kay's mother, feeling sorry for her daughter's lack of date, decides to find Kay a date. This all occurs a week before said prom is to occur- pickings are slim.
Well mother succeeds- who does she get I hear you asking? No one other then Kay's Brother-in-Law. Can we say MAJOR Pity date? Yes- said brother-in-law is WAY to old to be going to high school prom- at least 23.
So how awkward would this be? "No I am hanging out with a bunch of teenagers for the night. No I am not a chaperon, I am a date. Yes, I do realize that is utterly pathetic."
And how said for Kay- she is going to have to introduce her date- Yeah this is my brother-in-law. Yeah, it is a total pity date. I rock.
Well meant gesture by Brother-in-law and Mother- but SERIOUSLY- I would rather sit at home.
