ABC's of Me - The Kickin' K's

K is for Kilts! I saw a bumper sticker today that gave me an idea for the letter K. It said "It is is hard to be humble when you are Scotish"
I love being Scottish! I have alot of Scottish blood on both sides of my family, but my mom's is the most prominent. My mom's maiden name is Archibald, which is part of the MacPherson Clan. When I use to do Scottish Dancing when I will younger (I hated the sword dance. I think I kicked it every time in competition and that was not a good thing) I have this theory that if you have any amount of Scottish blood in your veins, then the sound of a bagpipe playing just sends chills through your body. I love the sound of bagpipes. I love a man in a Kilt!!! I LOVE THE SCOTTISH ACCENT!!!
I would love to go to Scotland some day, and just wonder the highlands!! I even love the movie Brigadoon- even though the dancing that they do is more hollywood then scottish.
So- here are some facts about my Clan- MacPherson

This is one of 17 different tartans for Clan Macpherson. I had a kilt made of this one when I was dancing. This is the dress tartan. They have a bunch of different tartans for different occasions.

This is the Clan Badge with the Motto on it... which I thought was really weird until I read this explaining what it meant

Motto: Touch not the catt bot a glove. 'Bot' means without. The 'glove' of a wildcat is the pad. If the cat is 'ungloved', its claws are unsheathed. The motto serves as a warning that one should beware when the wildcat's claws are 'without a glove'. It is a reference to the historically violent nature of the clan and serves as a metaphorical warning to other clans that they should think twice before interfering with Macpherson business
So don't mess with the Macpherson's!
And finally these are the two castles that are part of the MacPherson estate.

Who knows maybe one day I will get one, or atleast get to go see it...
