Lost on Lost?
So some of you know what an avid Lost fan I am. I never miss it- and if I do, I watch it online the next day. I have been watching this show since day one- I thought the idea was really interesting- kind of Gilligan's Island meets Survior Meets Castaway. And the real reason I started watchin it was because of Dominic Monaghan.(That is Charlie, or one of the Hobbits from Lord of the Rings)
Well in the first season- they almost killed Charlie off- I was ready to stop watching it then and there- but they did not, so I continued- which actually almost killing him off made me like the show more. It was probably because I loved how intensely I was attached to it.
Well- I still love the show- and now that Charlie is not on the show anymore- I still love it. I have grown to love other Character- Particularly Sawyer.
Anywho- last night was a new Lost. My brother had invited some of his friends over to watch a movie, and I told him that he would have to wait till after Lost. He kind of laughed it off. But he ended up watchin it with us.
So of course, having never watched a single episode- he was completely Lost. How do you explain it?
This is the basic explanation that me and my Dad came up with-
"This plane crashed on a island. On the island already lived the "others" who are now known as the Hostiles, and then there was the Dharma Initiative people, that were killed out by the Hostiles. We know that 6 of the people from the plane crash get off the island- the Oceanic six. Then to protect the island, Ben "moves" it. Ben is a Dharma traitor/ Hostile/Other. Ben convinces the Oceanic six to come back to the island- BUT the island has been jumping through time- So when they come back to the island, four of them end up coming back in time- and meet up with some of the remaining surviors in 1977- who are now part of Dharma. Three others, who were on the plane, are in present time- Ben, Sun and Locke- who was not part of the original oceanic 6 but got off the island to bring the 6 back, tried to kill himself, then ben convinced him not to, then ended up strangling locke and killing him.- Oh yeah did we tell you that Locke is now ALIVE again- now that he is back on the island."
I think it was at this point that we lost them. But seriously how do you explain it- There is so much- if you don't watch it you just don't under stand- and even if you do watch- it is still a little confusing... But it is awesome.

I am TRULY evil...
Here is proof that I am really truly evil-
I LOVE the part of my job that gets to send people to collections.
Seriously- I have no remorse for it. See- I am evil.
I believe that this has come from YEARS of being yelled at and having to put up with idiotic people.
NOW- I have the power to destroy their lives- well atleast thier credit. Now they will be the ones who get hounded with angry phone calls from people who demand thier money. All I have to say is Nah nah nah nah... :b
I know- it is completely heartless of me, but it is really hard for me to sympathize with someone who has not control.
A security system is NOT a neccassity- no matter where you live it is not a necassity- Sorry. It is a luxury. If you can't afford to feed your children, or pay your mortgage- maybe you should not have gotten into so much debt.
I know that times are hard, I get that. But you don't see me spending money I don't have because I think that I need it! (ok maybe I do a bit- but nothing like spending THOUSAND of dollars I don't have and will not have anytime soon)
So yeah- call me a cold hearted monster- I am good with that.
If someone is given chance after chance, after chance to make something right- then they have NO right to complain when they do not take advantage of those oppurtunities. To quote Into the Woods- Oppurtunity is not a Lengthy Visitor.

"And that's why you always leave a note"
Ok-to start off with this is a potential spoiler alert if you watch Lost and did not watch last week's episode- but nothing too drastic- so get over it.
- So I love this story and I had to share with my friends who would appreciate- that you Meghann and Cassie.
Last week, I watched Lost with Jen and Tim at thier place. The Smoke monster returned this week. This time in particular, it attacked Jin and the Frenchies.

The jist of what happened is that it grabbed one of the Frenchies by the leg and dragged him thru the jungle- everyone else goes chasing after the smoke monster to save him. (Not smart) Well the come to what we assume is the smoke monster's lair, and they see their buddy being dragged down into the cave. The grab his arm and start pulling him to save him. Well smoke monster is obviously much stronger, and suddenly they are left there holding thier buddies detached arm (eww I know)
Well at this point my sister, Jen, says
"And that's why you don't use a one armed man to teach a lesson"
I just about died!
Thanks J. Walter Weatherman for the great lessons

For those of you who are confused as to why this is funny- Watch Arrested Development- it will change your life.

So advanced for a 17 month old.
So if some day, you get a random text from and you can't quite decipher what exactly it says... like it is completely nonsense. The following picture will explain why...

Yes- that is my nephew. And yes, that is my phone. Bronson has become quite an avid texter. I believe his first text was to his father when he was about 6 months old. Now, his phone savy skills have moved outside of just texting. He has now become my event planner. In fact, he scheduled an appointment for me with the KKK. (Not really sure why he feels that I need to meet with the KKK...)
It is funny though to see what he has done to my phone after he gets a hold of it.
So if you get random texts or phone calls from me and no one answers, or you hear muddled noise in the background- just assume Bronson has my phone... and ignore...
-Andrea
-PS- I deleted the appointment he had made with the KKK.. did not think it was a wise move to keep that one.

Why cars are evil...
So I have to buy a car.. well more like I get to buy a car. Thanks to my Uge (that is spanish forkie for Huge) tax return- all in part to taking a Uge pay cut- thanks again Firstline... anywho back to the point. I am buying a car. I HATE car shopping. I have no freaking idea of what I want. Ok maybe a slight Idea...
So- any ideas? What cars do you have? do you like them? Is it reliable? Is it fun to drive? Ever since driving a BMW as my Nanny car, I feel like nothing else is just fast enough- and trust me I would buy a BMW if it were cost effective...
So what do you think? What have you heard?

To Ask or Not to Ask
So today in my Sociology of Marriage and Family class, we were discussing Gender roles ( this will make sense eventually). Well my teacher like to ask alot of questions- often times they are rhetorical questions. These rhetorical questions throw us off, we are never really sure if he wants us to answer the questions or not... anywho back to the point. He quoted a statistic in our book that stated that of so many college girls (from a southern college) who were questioned- 62% stated that they would never ask a guy out. He asked if this was just a southern thing, or whether it is more extensive.
So my teacher asked us girls, who would ask a guy out. A few girls reaised their hands. I was not one of them.
Do get me wrong, I use to have no problem asking a guy out- high school I went to just about every girl ask dance that I could. Once I hit college, things changed a little bit. Now, I am older, and much less likely to ask a guy out. I pondered on this as the other girls shared why or why not they would ask a guy out.
The answers ranged from "Who cares? It shows the guy that you are interested, and you know if is interested too" to "I am too scared that being to forward would look to desperate or intimidating" I fall close to the last idea.
I am no spring chicken anymore- but I am not an old maid. It is an akward stage (almost junior high akward) at least when it comes to dating. Do I date someone MUCH younger then me? (which means like boys my Brother's age, whom I potential could have babysat, and in some cases did) Or, do I date someone much older then me? (Seriously if you are closer in age to my dad then you are to me, that is just WRONG!) So this is part of my hold back on asking guys out, I am either WAY to old or WAY to young. But The biggest thing is that I am afraid of rejection.
So to the point- I need help! For those of you who are married- which is most of my friends who read this blog- did you ask your now spouse out or did they ask? How would it have felt if it were reversed? Ask your husbands (and I say husbands because most of you are girls) if, when they were single, if they would have preferred that girls be more proactive and ask them out? What do they think of girls who do the asking?
At what point does the asking become desperate, or pathetic? What is your idea or timeframe of when is too soon to call, and when it is a lost cause?
So basically- I am looking for input. I am trying to be bold. I am trying to work up courage. After class today, I realized that I need to do more if I want more to happen ( I know that is kind of obvious, but I just needed the reminder) So I am looking for courage to do what absolutely frightens me right now.
UPDATE- I ASKED! Details later...

Shut up already
Ok- how lazy have people gotten? I am sitting at work- and there is this lady outside who is incesently honking her horn. I am assuming that she is expecting someone to come out and get in the car with her. But seriously- after 10 freaking mins- you would think that maybe- just maybe they have not heard your damn horn- and that you should get of your lazy butt and go in and get them. Seriously- is it that hard? I understand if she has kids in the car- but seriously- Honking is getting you NOWHERE! UGH

ABC's of Me- Gentlemanly G
is for Gone with the Wind. This is one of my favorite movies. And not for really obvious reasons. I LOVE the character of Rhett Butler. I cannot stand Scarlet (although I plan on naming one of my daughters Katie Scarlet because I like the name- and I know that her real name was Katherine- but Katie is cuter.)
The reason that I love Rhett is because he does not put up with Scarlet's crap, and puts her in her place. She is use to guys falling all over her, and when one guys does not that just eats at her. LOVE IT

Some of my favorite Lines-
Of course there is the ultimate line from the Movie- "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" - which if you have not seen this movie- it is just the best line ever. Nothing to shut up a whiny girl then to tell her you don't care.
Another favorite (and most of my favorite lines are from Rhett) "No, I don't think I will kiss you, although you need kissing, badly. That's what's wrong with you. You should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how."
It is a classic- watch it if you have not already!
Also- fun spoof that Carol Burnett did- Went with the Wind.
HILLARIOUS! Check it out here

You ever have one of those days that just hits you with a pleasant surprise?
That was my day yesterday. I woke up with nothing eventful planned- work, play with Bronson, maybe go to the mall to get some new shoes for work.
Well- that is basically how my day went. But it was how it ended that made me happy.
I don't want to say too much to jinx anything- but it was a good day. I was happy- and even still I can not stop smiling.
I love days like this- I hope that there are more to come soon in the future-
Thank you again Monica for your nagging!
